I’m young with no credit and no checking account. I’ve been looking online and have only come across debit cards or credit cards that require a checking account. Where and how can I get a CREDIT CARD w/ no credit and no checking account?

Actually most banks give you a credit card when you open a checking account. If you are 17 or older you can get a student checking account with a debit card.

The reason they want a checking account is because statistics show that people that don’t have checking accounts are more likely to default.

If you are under 18, you can not get a credit card.

So, I’m 18 and very confused with this whole credit card “business”. All I want is a simple credit card that I can use that when use it, it will extract the exact amount out of my account and pay the merchant in full with out letting me go over the set money in my account. THAT’S IT. No monthly payments, no credit points, just cut and dry card. I’m getting this so I don’t have to carry around cash and if im every mugged I can cancel the card before anything is spent. So what do I get? A visa? A master card?

You need a Debit card and not a credit card. A debit card will do exactly what you want. Go to your bank and ask them about it, Visa or Mastercard really makes very little difference, they are just the company that processes the payment.
